There is a page-rendering issue with firefox. Maybe CSS related. The forum page looks whacky.

Seems to be fixed (firefox 14).

Good stuff :-) Yeah, it seems like Firefox deals with the CSS float property a bit differently. An extra <br> tag with clear:both fixed it right up.

A good new year to y'all too.

I observe that at some places images get cropped when viewed, e.g. the top image on the project description page. That may be a lot easier than scaling and adding a background colour and risking it to look ugly. However, there could be a hint / note about a preferred W/H ratio. A perfect solution would be to let the user select the ROI that should be shown. I don't know how hard it would be to code that of course. Maybe allowing for a x/y offset would suffice.

Happy new year!

Yeah, project images get cropped a couple different ways. When we generate the image that goes at the top of the page, we resize it so it covers a 630x400 pixel area and then crop the excess. (Said another way, we resize the image so the smaller dimension is equal to 630 if it is the width or 400 if it is the height. We then crop any part of the image outside of the 630x400 pixel box, center-weighted.)

When resizing project images for thumbnails (used for showing lists of projects,) we do the same thing except the dimensions 175x175 are used.

I'm going to look into seeing if we can remove the cropping of the large project images. It should be ok.

Thanks for the feedback!

Alrighty, we just updated the site. New project images that are uploaded will not be cropped. Any old images will remain cropped.

Maybe I'm a bit thick, but how do you add a text comment to new revisions again? Everytime I press on the "add revision" button a new one gets created, but I fail to see / find a text-field for a comment.

It's under edit description.

Admittedly, it's not the best location for that field...

A while a go I was 'complaining' about project images bing cropped. Something was changed. Maybe that is showing unwanted side effects now.

It looks acceptable now, but if I add another image, the little thumbnails are all over the place. Let me do just that right now...

Hmm, yeah, I see the problem. Shouldn't be too hard to fix. Thanks for pointing this out!

This is fixed in the next version of the site. It should be live in a few days at most.
